Rightmove reports a 19% jump this month in the number of home-owners starting the selling process by requesting a property valuation via Rightmove, compared to the same period last year. With more homeowners getting ready to move, we can expect to see more properties for buyers to choose from in the new year.
Be ready for the ‘Boxing Day boom’ in buyer demand
Boxing Day marks the start of the 2022 home-buying season. Every year we see more and more people browsing properties on Rightmove during the post-Christmas Day festive period. In fact, last Boxing Day, visits were 54% higher than the previous year.
There were also more than 51 million visits to Rightmove between Boxing Day and the first working day of the new year, so it’s a hugely valuable time if you want to make sure your home is going to be seen by lots of potential buyers.
